These are general show jumping practice days.  They often include some grid work to work on the horse or ponies technique and rider's position and balance, some more general jumping schooling and exercises and riding courses, linking fences together.
Schooling exercises can be used to encourage the less confident rider or horse or can be more technical for those that are more confident or competing.  It may include related distances, how to jump more technical combinations, riding in a balanced way around corners and between fences, methods of improving the horses technique for example.

In between there are practical/theory sessions which can include riding theory, video analysis or"doing a pony club badge" for the younger ones.  Sessions are very much tailored to the groups requirements and Whole days can be tailor made to suit a groups needs so please do tell us if you would like to do something a bit different to that suggested.

Competition Show Jumping Pracice Day - Course Riding and Jump Offs

A fabulous day for those wanting to buld on their competition experiences or perhaps get ready to have their first go.  During the day we will help you improve your course walking skills including walking distances and knowing where the more difficult parts of the course are for you and your horse.  We will watch you ride a course of show jumps, help you to improve your ability to ride a good track and more technical aspects of the course, dog legs, corners etc.  Finally we will help you to improve your ability to ride a fast clear jump off and get that elusive win!

Alternative Jumping Competitions Practice- Practice and understand a variety of jumping competitions

Practice and have a go at different classes such as "Top Score", Scurry and Master Class whilst still improving your jumping technique, balance and position.  Understand how the different classes work, their rules and have fun trying them out!

Grid/SJ Clinics
You will be in small goups of similar ability.  Separate groups can be for Adults, teenagers and Children or familioes grouped together.  Exercises using a line of fences will help with technique and to improve your confidence and understanding of how to react in different situations when jumping a  course of show jumps.  Variations are used to increase complexity and use for more experienced combinations.
Open to all levels.
Appriox 1.5 hours

In all cases groups are kept small and are made up according to age and experience or confidence.

Age Range

Adults' days are usually separate and during term time although we are very happy to run Parent and Child days where appropriate in the holiday time.

Teenagers days are held during the school holidays at the same time as younger children but both have their own, completely separate environment.  Teenagers horses are kept on our top yard and they use the facilities for lunch and breaks on the yard, whilst younger children's ponies are tethered with hay and water in a secure barn where children can be kept out of the elements and an eye can be kept on them at all times.  They have their lunch and breaks in a static caravan and they use this for practical activities when it is cold in winter.

Level and Confidence

Groups range from Novice and Nervous to Competitive where we regularly have BS/BE level competitors coming to train in a fun environment.
